Vintage joist brace / right-angle hand drill with dark aged wood handle, working ratchet mechanism, and strong primitive shop display appeal. This old brace has been cleaned and stabilized, with the handle crack secured, but it is being offered primarily as decor due to shaft waviness and damaged chuck jaws. Detailed description
Vintage joist brace / right-angle hand drill offered as a decor-forward antique tool with great workshop, farmhouse, or study display character. The ratchet is functional in both directions plus stop, and the piece has been lightly cleaned, lubricated, and preserved rather than over-restored. No visible maker marks were found after cleanup.

Unmarked vintage joist brace / corner-style hand drill with wood side handle and round head pad. Approximate overall size is shown in the photos with ruler for reference. No bit is included.
Condition
This piece shows honest age and wear throughout. The wood handle had a crack that has been stabilized and is solid. The shaft has noticeable waviness / prior-correction character. The chuck jaws are visibly damaged at the tip. Because of those condition issues, this is best as decor, collection, or light display-use conversation piece rather than as a dependable daily user.
Restoration performed
Light cleaning, lubrication, handle crack stabilization, and protective finish work only. Patina and age character were intentionally retained.
