Authentic vintage Union Utility Chest finished in its original green paint with honest shop wear and attractive patina. Cleaned, waxed, and preserved rather than refinished, this American-made steel toolbox is equally suited for storing hand tools or displaying in a workshop, office, or industrial décor collection.
Detailed Description
This genuine vintage Union Utility Chest is an excellent example of mid-century American shop equipment. Manufactured by Union Steel Chest Corporation of LeRoy, New York, it retains its original green painted finish with decades of honest wear that give it outstanding character.
Rather than stripping or repainting, the toolbox has been carefully cleaned and stabilized to preserve its authentic appearance. The original hardware remains intact, including all three front latches and the embossed Union carrying handle. The center latch is designed for a padlock (padlock not included).
The interior has been cleaned and loose rust stabilized while preserving the original finish. The hinges operate smoothly and the lid opens and closes properly. A slight bow in the front edge was gently corrected to improve fit without disturbing the original metal.
