Detailed description
Tool details
Heavy old all-steel leather punch / strap punch with visible markings reading OUT, BUCKRUM, QTR, and number/size characters including 9389 and 11 1/2 13 1/2 B. Overall length appears just under 6 /12 inches. Forged construction with boxed cutting body and flared striking handle.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age wear, scattered staining, darkened patina, light remaining oxidation in recesses, and visible old shop/use marks. Stampings are readable, though maker identification is unconfirmed. The body appears solid in the photos. The cutting edge shows prior shaping and visible notches/scallops on one section.
Restoration performed
Light hand rust removal only. Treated with mineral oil and sealed with a light coat of paste wax. It was intentionally not polished bright so the old surface and markings remain intact.
Ideal use
Good for vintage leather tool collectors, saddlery or harness display, old-tool decor, or light leatherworking by a buyer who understands vintage tools and sharpens/tunes to preference.
