Detailed description

This is a vintage cast iron foundry or smelting ladle with a long flat handle, deep rounded bowl, single pour spout, and hanging hole at the end of the handle. It has the heavy, utilitarian look of an old shop tool and makes a great primitive industrial display piece.

Condition

This ladle shows age, oxidation, casting texture, dark patina, and surface pitting consistent with an older working foundry or shop tool. No cracks were found during inspection. The rim and bowl have uneven handmade/working-tool character rather than a modern machined finish.

Restoration performed

The ladle was lightly cleaned by hand, then oiled and waxed to stabilize the surface while preserving the aged industrial finish. It was not polished bright, repainted, or over-restored.

Use / display

Best suited for primitive industrial decor, shop wall display, blacksmithing decor, foundry collection, photo prop, or rustic workspace styling. It has not been tested for active foundry use and is not being sold as food-safe cookware.
