Detailed Description
Vintage Jaquet Speed Indicator Tachometer Kit
This is a vintage Swiss-made Jaquet mechanical tachometer, distributed in the U.S. by Herman H. Sticht Company of New York. These precision instruments were used in machine shops and industrial settings to measure spindle RPM and surface speed (feet per minute) on lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other rotating machinery. This example is a complete kit, including the tachometer head, multiple contact tips, rubber surface wheel for linear speed measurement, extension rod, and the original fitted case. The dial reads 100 revolutions / 50 feet and is catalog number 2302 per the included instruction card. The kit also includes the original accessory price sheet dated 1966, which helps date the set to the mid-20th century. The instrument operates mechanically with a timed escapement: pressing the top button starts the timer and the dial records revolutions during the timing interval. When the dial stops, the RPM can be read directly.
