Vintage 10-inch RIDGID heavy duty straight pipe wrench, made in Elyria, Ohio, USA. This one has its original red finish with honest shop wear, sharp jaws, and smooth adjustment. I cleaned, oiled, and waxed it so it’s ready to go right back to work in your plumbing kit or hang on the wall as classic shop decor.

- Model: 10” heavy duty straight pipe wrench
- Marked: “RIDGID – HEAVY DUTY – 10"” on one side and “THE RIDGE TOOL CO. ELYRIA, OHIO U.S.A.” on the other
- Length: approx. 10 in overall
- Pipe capacity: up to about 1-1/2 in (RIDGID catalog spec for the 10” size) 
- Era: likely 1990s–early 2000s production
Condition
- Fully functional – adjuster turns smoothly through the whole range and the hook jaw tracks straight.
- Teeth are in good working shape with plenty of bite left.
- Original red paint is mostly intact with small chips and speckling from normal use.
- Clean, dry feel in hand – not greasy – with a light wax sheen on the body and a darker, even patina on the steel jaws.
- No cracks, repairs, or bent handle observed.
Restoration work performed
- Disassembled for inspection and cleaning.
- Old grime and loose rust brushed away, keeping the original red finish and cast texture.
- Metal surfaces wiped down and given a light coat of mineral oil, then buffed with paste wax for protection.
- Moving parts (threads, jaw slide, spring) lubricated with Hoppes oil and cycled until smooth.
- Final wipe so it’s ready for immediate use.
How to use & care
- Great size for household plumbing, shop maintenance, and a go-to wrench in a service bag.
- After use, wipe dry and add a drop of light oil on the threads if you’re in a damp environment.
- Store indoors to keep that vintage patina stable.
