Vintage 10 inch Stillson-style pipe wrench made by Henry & Allen of Auburn, New York. This drop forged steel wrench has been cleaned, oiled, and waxed while preserving its original working patina, visible maker marks, and age-worn character. Functional jaw travel with usable teeth; ideal for vintage tool collectors, plumber trade decor, workshop display, or light-duty use.
Detailed description
This is a vintage 10 inch Stillson pipe wrench marked “STILLSON WRENCH MFD BY HENRY & ALLEN AUBURN NY USA” with a second mark reading “DROP FORGED 10 STEEL.” Henry & Allen operated in Auburn, New York and is a less commonly seen maker compared with the major Stillson wrench names.
The wrench has been cleaned and stabilized, not polished bright. I removed active grime and surface rust, cleaned the jaw and rack teeth, lubricated the adjustment mechanism, and protected the steel with a light oil/wax finish. The goal was to preserve the original patina and markings while making the tool clean, stable, and display-ready.
Condition is good vintage used condition. The jaw travels properly and the teeth are present and usable. There are scratches, dings, worn jaw faces, old pitting, finish loss, dark patina, and general working wear throughout. Please review the photos closely; this is an authentic old working tool, not a reproduction and not restored to new condition.
This piece works well as a collectible vintage plumber’s wrench, shop display piece, industrial decor accent, or gift for a plumber, pipefitter, mechanic, machinist, or old-tool collector. It can also be used for light work, but it should be treated as a vintage hand tool rather than a modern heavy-use shop wrench.
