This listing is for a vintage Lufkin X48 “Red End” extension rule, a classic 8-foot wooden folding rule with brass end caps and sliding brass extension. All segments fold smoothly, the extension slides and stops as it should, and the markings are still clear and easy to read.

The wood shows honest mid-century shop wear: light darkening, scattered spots, and small edge dings, but no structural cracks. Brass hardware has a soft aged sheen from years of use. I cleaned the rule gently and finished it with a thin coat of my Renaissance-style microcrystalline wax, so it feels dry in the hand while being protected for future use.
