Vintage Stanley Bailey No. 6C Corrugated Fore Plane

Vintage Stanley Bailey No. 6C fore plane with corrugated sole, made in USA and freshly tuned in my shop. This is the classic “small jointer” size plane—long enough to flatten panels and edges, but still manageable on a smaller bench.

The plane was fully stripped down, cleaned, de-rusted, and put back to work. The original hardwood knob and tote are solid with honest wear, and the corrugated sole helps reduce friction when you’re pushing over wide boards. If you’ve been wanting a user-grade fore/jointer that’s ready to make shavings the day it arrives, this one is good to go.

Condition

• User-grade vintage condition.
• Japanning is worn in the usual high-touch areas but largely present in the bed.
• Knob and tote are structurally sound; finish shows dings, scratches, and handling wear consistent with age.
• Corrugated sole shows light scratching and staining from use but has been cleaned and lapped for function.
• Iron has plenty of life left and has been sharpened for immediate use.
• All adjustments (depth, lateral, lever cap) move freely and lock down as they should.
